Lightning is almost as hard to photograph as a rambunctious toddler. We had quite a light show tonight, not something that happens around here very often and certainly not in June, so I was pretty excited to capture a small bolt before the thunderstorm was over. It's amazing how much kids change from the beginning of the school year to the end so it's a good time to capture them just the way they are when they graduate.

3rd grade art project

This is a fun project I'm working on as the art docent for Spencer's 3rd grade class. Today we did figure drawing of bodies in motion (each of the kids in the class took a turn modeling), so now I'll take all of the pictures and turn them into a digital "flip book". Here's a quick preview of Spencer's drawings of his classmates. The final video will have 16 pictures drawn by 16 different kids. Cool!

I saw this on a friend's blog: find the sixth picture in the sixth folder of your "My Pictures" file and put it on your blog. This is my youngest on the carousel at Disneyland, taken a couple of years ago. Don't worry, the motion blur is on purpose--I shot this for an assignment for a photography class I was taking. Here are a few more from that same trip, it's pretty easy to find lots of motion at Disneyland...
