My children are not exactly "tough", but they were trying really hard to look the part...

27 days
This is one of the pictures from my "autobiographical photography" class. The assignment is to take a self-portrait every day for 27 days. I'm including each of my children in some way in the pictures, so this is my way of including Holly, who's away at college (and a good way to avoid having my face in the picture, as well!).

last day of photo fun

meet our future photographers...
We had a fun class today--we set up a little studio with my backdrop and put my "big" camera on the tripod, with the kids each taking a turn as the photographer and the model. It was so cute watching them give directions to their "model" about how to pose. (click to make each picture larger)
I think they were all much more cooperative for me because now they know that getting someone to pose just the right way isn't as easy as it looks. :)

more photo fun
I don't know who's having more fun, me or the kids! This is a great excuse to get to play around in Photoshop while, at the same time, hopefully teaching them how to use a few of the tools.
Because of the smoky air, we stayed inside today so we didn't get to do all of the picture-taking projects we had planned, but we did try a few fun things...
And this picture is definitely my favorite! I've seen these clone pictures before and wanted to try one with the boys. They had fun figuring out different poses they could do and were anxious to see the final result. Here it is--a house full of busy boys!

summer photography fun
A friend and I are taking turns teaching some "summer camp" classes for our kids--instead of paying to send them to an expensive class somewhere, we're swapping kids and teaching the things we're good at. She's doing cooking classes for the boys and I'm teaching them some photography. They'll also do a "Lego Camp" at our house with Ryan, our resident Lego expert. So, here's our first photography assignment from today--a scavenger hunt. Hannah joined us on the outing and I think we got some great pictures. Move over, Ansel Adams...
